"The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide. We call this work cultural relations.

We are on the ground in six continents and over 100 countries bringing international opportunity to life, every day. Each year we work with millions of people, connecting them with the United Kingdom, sharing our cultures and the UK’s most attractive assets:  English, the Arts, Education and our ways of living and organising society. We have over 75 years experience of doing this."

PIZZA EXPRESS
About PizzaExpress :

"What floats our boat? Four simple things. Beautiful music. Stunning design. Unique experiences. Exceptional food. To us, these are special. Always have been. Always will. It's just who we are

Proud. Obsessive. Stubborn. :
It all started with Peter. Gloriously unique. Proud to be different. Peter Boizot didn't just break the mould. He knocked down entire walls. He brought great pizza to Great Britain. And a great deal more besides. So he's much, much more than our founder back then. He's still our inspiration today."

JUSTIN DEAKIN
The statement in the window reads "make the right noise" and stepping into Justin Deakin's new store, it's clear that you are being invited to pay attention. Even if you haven’t heard of Justin Deakin, you probably own a pair of shoes by him.

He is arguably one of the country’s top shoe designers, and has been for over 20 years – so it seems only right that he now has his own store in East London. Justin Deakin shoes are a heady mix of tradition and modern styling, with individual imaginative touches.

Having embarked on a journey which has led to him being one of the most renowned shoe designers around, he made his next collection a suitably eccentric British affair, choosing to work with the best English factories and the best English materials available.

Deakin has spent decades building up good relationships with English suppliers, and so from the soles, to the leather, to the silk, these shoes and boots are the best of British. You can understand why after six months from launching there is already a waiting list on certain styles and plans for a second store in the next year.

There are no gimmicks or short cuts with these shoes, every pair are an excellent example of English craftsmanship and Justin Deakin's success is a true reflection of the quality of the shoes on sale.

"We want all who come to St James to feel welcome whether they are coming to a Sunday service, a midweek activity or a special event.

At the back of church there is a Welcome Area with information available for anyone new to church and after all our services there are people who will be happy to talk to you, tell you more about St James, what we do, what's on and how you can get involved. During the week, in office hours any member of our staff will be pleased to tell you about St James. Our bookshop volunteers will also be happy to help."
