Always wanted to create your own project for your local community without really knowing how to proceed? Always wanted to change things around you but don't really know how to create a project and how to find the funding?

So come and join us in our next event Youth In The Dragons Den. During this training event, professionals will help you to
  • build confidence and stimulate initiative.
  • gain hands on experience of being a leader as well as a team player.
  • give you methodology to build your own project especially through the creation of a fictional (or possibly real) Youth Initiatives application and using the well-known television programmes ‘Dragon’s Den’ and The Apprentice as the theme and methodologies.

Dates of the Workshop : 8th-12th March 2012

Application deadline: 7th February 2013.

Cost: Participant will only have to pay 30% of the travel costs.

Topic of the Workshop : creativity and entrepreneurship.

Language of the Workshop : English.

Target group(s) :
Individual young people or small groups of young people (18+, mixed group of males and females) from United Kingdom only.
We will target unemployed young people, 50% being those from backgrounds of social exclusion and the other 50% unemployed graduates or other young people without additional support needs who have been unable to gain employment.

Expected number of participants : 24 participants from the UK (mixed group of males and females).


Main activities / programme of the Workshop:  
The objective of Youth in the Dragons Den is to bring young people from across the UK together and stimulate creativity, initiative and participants sense of entrepreneurship. It will promote inclusion and encourage cross-community working, working with the youth sector, business and industry. We will use the well-known television programmes ‘Dragon’s Den’ and The Apprentice as the theme and methodologies for the seminar and will, capitalise on the multitude of, previous knowledge, ideas, ambition and initiative that participants bring to the training, cultivating these to create an exciting activity which stimulates participants imagination and builds their confidence, helping them gain employment skills. We will deliver Youth in the Dragon’s Den using a variety of practical, non-formal learning styles utilising success stories in this field. Participants will be involved in practical, sessions which build confidence and stimulate initiative and thinking outside the box and gain hands on experience of being a leader as well as a team player, helping participants to develop both team skills and leadership It will provide an opportunity to develop future partnerships in particular stimulating ideas which could inspire future Youth Initiatives projects. During the project participants will be responsible for creating a live daily blog to gain digital competencies as well as offering visibility to the Youth in Action programme, and setting up a platform for on-going communication between participants and providing a long-term impact after this project.

Expected outputs :
This training will offer participants a non-formal learning programme, focussing on the theme of creativity and entrepreneurship. The objectives will be to increase participants’ abilities to think strategically and increase their capacity to use initiative and creativity, they will develop competences, knowledge, skills and attitudes in this exciting field.

The specific outcomes of this activity will be:

  • Young people having a raised awareness of the world of business and commerce.
  • Participants will have learned different methods and be equipped with different tools to be able to lead a team and co-operate as a team member.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to think ‘outside the box’ and hear from entrepreneurs how they have started up their organisations/businesses, where they came from and where they are now.
  • Participants will have gained a knowledge of the Youth in Action programme and understand the application process.
  • Participants will create a fictional (or possibly real) Youth Initiatives application which will be presented to five Youth in Action Dragons.
  • Participants will have developed ideas and explored principles in marketing and visibility.





Practical arrangements :
Regarding the travel we will ask participants to book their travel, after our agreement with the travel chosen. We will then reimburse the 70% at reception of all orginal tickets.
Everything is Possible will arrange all aspects or your stay in London. Participants will be accommodated together in pairs in single sex rooms in a hotel or training centre in close proximity to where activities will take place. Meals will be taken together.
